One more addition to our list of favorite movies of 2013.

"Dallas Buyers Club" tells a very touching story about the first years of AIDS and how some patients decided to fight against the governments' prohibitions and regulations for a decent treatment for their condition and, above all, for their right to live.

It'll definitely make you think, folks. First class entertainment.

Bill Watterson of 'Calvin and Hobbes' Draws Poster for Cartooning Doc

Okay guys, stop everything that you're doing and take a look at this: Bill Watterson, the creator of 'Calvin and Hobbes' has drawn a movie poster for a documentary on newspaper comic strips.

'Stripped' is available now for preorder on iTunes. Watterson was also interviewed for the documentary but he is just heard, and not seen, in the movie.

Harold Ramis: Who are we gonna call now?

It's been a terrible Monday for us comedy lovers with the sad news of an early departure of Harold Ramis.

Best known for his role as Dr. Egon Spengler in the 'Ghostbusters' franchise, Ramis had a successful career both in front and behind the camera, having directed several cherished comedies like "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983), "Multiplicity" (1999) and "Groundhog Day" (1993) in which he was also co-writer.

Ramis was also responsible for the screenplay of "Ghostbusters" (1984), "Analyze This" (1999) and "Analyze That" (2002), naming just a few from a long list of fine punch lines, gags and laughs.

Nobody likes when a great comedian leaves the stage, specially when we feel the show might have ended too soon.

Children's Book Features Famous R-Rated Movie Scenes Illustrated in the Style of Pixar

 

Josh Cooley, a story supervisor at Pixar Animation Studios, has created some very cool illustrations for his parody children’s book on famous scenes from R-rated films.

Movies R Fun!: A Collection of Cinematic Classics for the Pre-(Film) School Cinephile , is expected to come out February 25, and you can also get a print of the illustrations through Gallery 1988, an art gallery for pop culture-themed works.

How about presenting your five-year-old kid with a print of the shower scene in "Psycho"? He'll probably never shower again.

It's still a preliminary list, but these are some of our picks as the best movies of 2013.

They all have the common aspects that always attract our attention: a compelling story, an impeccable structure, interesting subjects, characters and ideas.

Great entertainment, for short.
