Harold Ramis: Who are we gonna call now?

It's been a terrible Monday for us comedy lovers with the sad news of an early departure of Harold Ramis.

Best known for his role as Dr. Egon Spengler in the 'Ghostbusters' franchise, Ramis had a successful career both in front and behind the camera, having directed several cherished comedies like "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983), "Multiplicity" (1999) and "Groundhog Day" (1993) in which he was also co-writer.

Ramis was also responsible for the screenplay of "Ghostbusters" (1984), "Analyze This" (1999) and "Analyze That" (2002), naming just a few from a long list of fine punch lines, gags and laughs.

Nobody likes when a great comedian leaves the stage, specially when we feel the show might have ended too soon.

"Millions of Americans can still repeat his movie lines verbatim."
Wall Street Journal

"Ramis had a remarkable run of canonical hits in the 1980s, which helped introduce anarchic sketch comedy techniques into mainstream film and proved an incalculable influence on a generation of comedy auteurs."
Variety

"His creativity, compassion, intelligence, humor and spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him."
UTA Statement

"Hollywood Mourns Harold Ramis."
The Hollywood Reporter
